I'm running a 17.5 at 87/50 and it temps out at under 120. This combo fits fine and I think I even have a little room left.

No, not with my 17.5. I run a Speed Passion GT LPF V1.1 and the ESC is barely warm after 5 minutes. The motor gets to about 120, and I don't run a fan on it either, though I've thought of trying one on the motor. I run on outdoor tracks and with the temps here being 50-60 lately, it just doesn't seem necessary yet. Maybe this summer ?

A quick side note, I ran with a friend this weekend (who also has an IFS-R) who was running 87/47 and down the long straight we seemed about even. I'm really not sure why, but thought it may be helpful. I may have had a "little" more top end, but not 3 teeth's worth ....

has any of you guys tried adjusting TB's for shock's in front? if so what length? I just followed what's in the manual.

Would using an 87 tooth spur allow pinions from 50 to 42 work ? Thanks , I am new to the chassis.

I have that servo...I just grinded the servo saver down a bit more for clearance.
