Why we choose the electric on-road, not others?
Hello, I'm a new comer of the R/C,
I'd really like to know the reason why you guys choose the electric in-road, not the nitro or off-road cars.
My cosideration is quite simple, just clean and quiet, while I want to learn more about your professional opinion, thanks a lot.

hope this Q posted here is suitable

Nitro is a pain. The cars are grease balls by the end of the day and there is not short cut to cleaning them. If you are a serious racer you will pay for every day of racing nitro with two days of cleaning and rebuilding. If you don't put in that time you will be slow and you will never finish races becuase you car will always be having failures.
The same for nitro off road except you have a grease ball coated in dirt.
Electric off road is a little better but you still have to clean an rebuild all the time. All the dirt is abrasive and wears bearings and drive shafts all the time. Electric off road is also the land of 2 run tires so staying competative costs an arm and a leg.

I run both Electric on road & nitro on road & simple can't get any better to clean & quiet
Im not going to say nitro is a pain cause @ times it can go both ways with electric Just think what you will get more enjoyment out of each vehicle & then decide what's more suitable for yourself & have fun
Adrian so that's why you don't do nitro I don't see PW complaining J/K

For me, it's all about the climate. Outdoor flying and driving can only happen from April (iffy) through October (iffy). Thats five months and two iffy months. Electric touring cars can (and, more importantly, ARE) ran indoors from September through April, and then go outdoors for the summer. So, I can run electric touring car 12 months a year, or offroad six months a year. Coming from 11 years of flying airplanes (again, six months a year), it was an easy choice.

What if there comes with a car which can conbine each of Electric's and Nitro's advantages? Like the Hybrid? Will that be attractive & possible?

Electric: Nitro needs too much mainitenance (I love BL motors)
Onroad: I enjoy the speed that modified gives me
Offroad: A lot more fun than onroad when racing people who you are good friends with, lot more laughs and giggles when your cars are so much more solid and only worth 1/3 of your touring car

i started running on-road coz my friends ran it.
then after 6 months of racing i wanted to race mod, but found that there wasnt a mod class or only 3 people running mod. everyone in electric onroad is too scared to run mod for some reason, so i got out and stick with off-road.

back here there are more off-road ep and gp racers...
but i choose to stay with on-road TC as the track here is very accessible to me (about 5mins from where i live). Also, our off-road tracks are very dusty (comes with living in a hot and humid country) which tends to get into all our precious electronic equipment and eventually screw them up.
