Very good charger, If I am not mistaken you need a firmware version minimum H27 for NIMH.

112 A is without power supply and 112C has built-in power supply. There is a company in California that support Tekin products.

I have the BC112A and it works great. I'm ot sure what software I have, since I purchased it from someone that was getting out but I have not had any problems with it charging NIMAH batteries.

If you think about it, TEKIN was ahead of the game when it came down to NIMAH. Most companies were scrambling to put out another charger.

Yeah, it's too bad that their out of the game. Maybe someone will pick them up and continue on with the name

If you have the opportunity to get the Pulsar LRP, then wait for it. It's probably one of the better chargers on the market.

The 112A is a good charger, how much are you getting it for? If it's less than $50.00 go for it, it'll be a good back up for you

when you plug in the charger it will tell you what programing it has on the screen for a few seconds. And I pretty sure that 26 or higher will charge Nimh.

thanks again .
the tekin is $75 and the lrp is $150
but i don' want to waste my batts with my actual charger
i think i should wait for the pulsar (a back up charger would have been realy cool, but I am on a budget)
does someone know sinc how long the bc114a exists ?

I have the DC version so when I plug in the power source it'll tell me what program I have in it?

yep. It'll say E 26, or something like that. it'll only stay on for a couple of seconds.

Right, you need to be looking at the charger's display the moment you turn the power supply on, because the 112 will only display the firmware version for a couple of seconds. And for the record, I have one myself(a BC112a) with the h27 firmware, & it seems to handle Nimh's quite well(you just have to be sure to turn off trickle charging & reflex charging & stick to the regular P or P0 charge modes(depending on the firmware, h27's only have a P & P2, while later ones have a P0, P1 & P2)....

I checked my charger, it has the E23 software. How can I get an upgrade?

Well, there's a place in California called Express Tech(website is: www.magicookie.com/prodigy/expresstech.htm )that can upgrade the firmware on them. That company was formed by guys who used to work for Tekin, & I hear they do good work...
