Mr. Black,

Is it possible to buy the harness for the SBS with Hyperion connectors? It seems the Hyperion LBA6 was replaced with the LBA10 that uses different connectors. The SBS appears to be based on the LBA6 (as well as many others) but I can't find replacement harnesses in stock anywhere.

I stumbled upon that last night. It's a "high amp" variety with a couple of wires that aren't attached. I'm not familiar with that method of using the balancer, or really why I'd do it with a 7.4V pack. That same site no longer lists the standard version of the harness, which is what originally shipped with the LBA6.

I see Tower is selling their own version, the "Equinox," but it seems like the harnesses they provide are for yet another type of balancing tap.

I'm not sure but I think most balancing harness handle up to something like 3 amps charge balance. All the extra wires do on the Hi Amp is connect to the battery wires so you could balance charge up to 6 amps. If you are doing balance discharging (which is what I do... never out of balance anyway) then the extra wires would have no use.

Tower's equinox? Are Great Planes and Tower one and the same? Anyhow the Electrifly Equinox balancing harness looks to be the same as the Orion SBS. My LHS has some on hand and I know for sure they are not Hyperion/PolyQuest plugs.

If you are having trouble finding the LBA6 harness you might look around for the Apache SM-505 harness... that harness uses Hyperion/PolyQuest plugs.

Cool, thanks for the info. I may end up just getting the HiAmp harness if I can't find the original one. It's hard to believe it's not available anywhere, so many people OEM the LBA6.

I always thought Great Planes & Tower were the same company, but I haven't actually researched it to tell for sure.
