Given that your track looks like it doesn't have too many tight sections, you might also want to try 2.5 degrees of rear toe in rather than 3 degrees to help and decrease the amount of speed scrubbed and increase on-power steering. The downside is that you'll lose some off-power steering.

I've used up to a 112T 0.4 module spur gear in the TA05MS.

I think that maybe only up to a 114/116T might fit the car without the spur gear poking out the bottom of the chassis (which is what a 120T spur does when fitted, 112T is about 1.5mm from the bottom of the lower deck).

What sort of FDR/rollout are you guys aiming for? I tend to be going the other way - looking for much taller gearing (smaller spurs). The track I do most my driving on is reasonably fast, with a few technical sections.

Currently using a 48P 69 spur and 37 pinion (4.20 FDR/46mm rollout) with 540 silver can, but some people are still quicker than me down the straight. I couldn't find an 04 pinion big enough to go with the 105T standard spur.

Im running my FDR at 3.6, using a 41 pinion and a 66 spur. This is with a 17.5. what FDR are you running for 540? when i ran 540 anywhere around 4.3 was the go. which pretty much stayed the same for all tracks but your motor does get hot! not this was in a heavy XXXS so i reckon the 05 can handle it better.

Not any more, but when I did it was a weapon once I had it set-up. I was the one to beat in that class till I moved up. It is dead easy to drive compared to my Xray, but the Xray if a faster car.

Qatmix that would be great but the version 2 keeps the equal length front/rear belt layout

Ricky I ran my MS in Open Stock at NATS level last year, I managed to finish 3rd overall at the K90 national event behind Wayne and Darren. I ran the car on Sorex 32R rubber and on 38 shore Nitro Shoes at that event and it was equally good on either type of tire.

Great stuff to hear! Thanks Skitee, besides the car... You're an awesome driver!

I read the article posted in the TA05 Ver.II thread here on RCTECH and in there it states that the drivetrain is the same as the TA05 IFS-R.
