I can't decide what car to get (TA05-R vs MS)! First touring car, will be running 6-cell, rubber tire, Novak 13.5SS and LRP Sphere Comp 07 ESC. I think fitting the LRP ESC behind the motor on the TA05-R might be a tight squeeze due to the tub chassis. MS comes with a front one-way also which I will need for indoor carpet racing anyway with low power motor (again 13.5). TRF416 is a little much to start out with also, even though it would only be ~$75 USD more.

Purchased the relevant parts to get the 416 steering fitted into my 05MS.
All seem to fit snugly together. Just need to flip the steering around.

Attached are two poorly taken photos.

As expected, the problem is securing the top center mount to the top deck.

Just fitted it last night, have not really try it yet. Do not know how it will affect the handling though.
But one thing's for sure, at least you cleared the steering from hitting the belt.

Nice! I wonder how the altered chassis flex characteristics are going to influence handling along with the new steering set up. Let us know how it works out.

You have to buy the parts individually.

Aaron,

Either will be great. I have a TA05R w\ the 13.5 GTB setup in it, and the fit was no problem. I've been running mine down at The Track and have had no problem keeping up with the competition (yes, my 415 is a tick faster, but cost twice as much). However, I did buy the CF shocktowers, a oneway (havent used it yet), and some other additional hopups, so the cost goes up a bit. If you get the TA05R, drop a line, and I can share the setup we have been using to start w\ on Carpet.

I've been watching for a used Ta05MS to try out on the carpet to see how it compares.... Anyone wanna sell one CHEAP?

Another thing is, if you plan to race the TCS race at trackside, what class do you want to fall into GT2 (tub chassis 13.5) or GT1 (any chassis 10.5).

Default front diff

you have to buy all of the parts to build a complete diff,or you can use a ta05 spool.the diff balls are 3mm i personally use acer racing diff balls with no problems.

As anyone had issues with the initial steering on this car? For some reason I have not been able to get the initial turn in even as good as my TA05. I need to get some new tires, but regardless, it doesn't seem to want to rotate on the initial corner entry.

Got electronics into my 05MS yesterday! Very fun, ran about 4 packs thru it (old IB3800s w/ Novak 17.5) on carpet. Look forward to get more wheel time with the car.

What is the correct Tamiya spring kit to use with the car? My springs are all white with a dab of yellow paint on all 4. Where can I find a Tamiya spring chart for touring cars? Thanks for the help anyone.
