No problem

Think of it this way, if the hinge pin gets knocked, physics will want it to move, if the material its held into is soft, that can distort and the hinge pin hole gets bigger, creating movement for the pin (and ill handling effects).

Does anyone have some pictures of their car wired for a 3200 Orion/Peak lipo pack? I would prefer to not run wire through the middle of the car, and then up to about the steering, but it looks like I might have to.

I am a proud owner of the TA05MS.

However, I cant hide my disapppointment that the TRF drivers are not using this machine.

Marc Rheinard used the TRF416 to win the JMRCA the moment it was off the production line. But not the TA05MS.

What you guys think? Is the TA05MS any worst than the TRF415 or TRF416?
What is it lacking? Ultimate pace?

Hey.

At first i though that same when i bought that car, but that car is exellent spec- class car like 17t, 19t and 27t

Some times ago i had conversation with one guy who drive mod and he told me at this car is not best car for carpet mod, so he still use 415 for that.

I use that car in 17t class with rubber and i like it. IMHO

Good question.

I bet part of it is marketing the flagship TRF line, but I wonder if the TA05MS lacks in terms of performance.

The TA05MS has weight more centrally (as in F and R) balanced which allows a sharper corner entry. The TRF415/416 has the battery placed a few mm closer to the center of the L/R axis than the TA05MS which gives quicker L/R weight transitions. The differences in belt lengths will also have some effect on handling and drivetrain efficiency since on-throttle the weight transfers rearward and off throttle or braking, it shifts forward.

Anyway, I race on small courses where using a one-way is usually the quickest way around the track. I think the more forward motor mounting position on the TA05MS especially helps to take those tight corners in comparison to other TCs I've gone up against.

CLK@Racing: Maybe Because marc rheinard is running modified, i've talk to some top japanese drivers and they told me that the TAO5Ms is not capable of running modified motors because of the lower deck and the position of the motor mount and they say its only good for running Stock motors. i just don't know if its true, i myself haven't tried running it for modified. but in stock very very nice. we have the same question in mind.

I have tried my 05MS on 4.5, 10.5 and 23T. And must say the car handles excellently on the 10.5 and 23T. But not too well on the 4.5... my conclusion then was that I am just not ready to handle the mod speed.

But if the few japanese guys you talked to are right, then it could be sad but true that the 05MS is just not for modified.

yes, really sad if its true! well 10.5 is equal to 19T so its still considered as stock. maybe they're right! what do you mean not too well in 4.5? what is the handling of your car using 4.5?

The more forward mounted motor on the TA05MS sacrifices rear wheel/forward traction for front wheel traction when entering corners. I tried running a 10 turn Orion V2 as well as a 5.5R in my TA05MS for fun on a makeshift course and I think the car still has a good amount of rear wheel traction, but I don't know if that's enough for serious competition.

I don't see why you should be sad; no car can be the best in every single situation. The TA05MS is not designed for the fastest motors or largest courses since in Japan, the stock classes rule and the tracks they run on are smaller and tighter than in the US.

Take a look at the RC-Champ best seller list:
http://rc-champ.jp/cp-bin/oscommerce/catalog/

If that list is not falsified, the TA05MS outsells all the other TCs they have. It even made the list twice (one kit sells with the Ti and Al screw set, the other is bare bones - straight from the factory).

I'm gonna have to slap a 4.5 in mine to test this out for myself. I have been running mine in 13.5 and it has tons of rear traction. I've been very impressed with it. I'd be willing to bet it will be a great mod car. Dave Jun has been racing MOD locally with his TA05R which has the motor a little further forward than the MS and his car looks great and he seems to win easily against good competition. I can't imagine the MS being any worse
