The 3200 will fit, but only with the sockets towards the front end of the car, otherwise the upper deck is in the way for the "+"-plug.

Has anyone fitted their TA05MS with an Orion 4800 Li-po? Does it fit without modification to the chassis?

yep, although a little bit off-set.... crappy blackberry pictures:

3200

4800

need to use tape, and some foam on the upper chassis holders (the 'T's that holds the upperdeck with the centre bulkhead) but that's it.

Thanks rampal. I may move to Li-po in the near future, so I wanted to be sure if the "standard" Orion packs would fit in the 05MS.

slammin, the guys who post on this thread that have MSXXs are reporting that lap times are very similar between that car and the TA05MS. Since the TA05MS has a more forward mounted motor, it can enter corners taking a sharper line, but it also reacts a little slower because it requires more weight transfer to turn. I've also noticed that it is very stable under braking, which might be due to the longer rear belt and shorter front belt than conventional designs.

I guess it would come down to your own preferences, the track, power available, and etc. Also, the TA05MS will probably lack some rear traction in comparison to the MSXX because of the forward motor position, but I personally don't have any problems with having too little rear wheel traction.

Just picked up my TA05MS...

Going to run a 10.5 Novak brushless motor.

Anyone have an idea on the spur/pinion I should be using for a small/medium track?

I've been using a 44 tooth pinion with the stock spur (5.36 FDR) with the Novak 10.5 SS. On a large track, I'd think even a 5.0 FDR wouldn't be unreasonable. Sometimes I do go up to maybe a 5.5-5.7 FDR for very small courses with this motor.

thats 4.94.. that seems a little too much for a 10.5. you might be able to get away with that on a 13.5 on a larger track. not sure about a 10.5 though?
