Default FORGET NiMH/LiIon/LiPo/LiMn - H-Cells are the future!

Quote:
The H-cell is a unique integration "upgrade" kit for electric hobby R/C cars, designed as a drop in unit that can fit inside widely available Tamiya TT-01 type chassis. The H-cell system designed by Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies includes a 30W air-cooled, air-breathing and self-humidified PEM fuel cell stack with integrated bright blue light-emitting fans and a sleek aluminium casing. The integration kit also includes electronic controls, a miniature pressure regulator and three 10L metal hydride canisters in a hydrogen storage "rack". At maximum power output and with a single charge, the H-cell can run the car at 35 km/h for over 1 hour, as opposed to just 15 minutes with the conventional Nimh battery.

Oh great! An R/C Prius. On-road racers are smug enough as it is. Now the first racer to get one will be telling everyone else that their electric R/C car isn't green enough!

The web site and brochure failed to mention how you charge it.

Great, another useless product produced by an industry built on mis-information and oil money. The industry exists because it ensures we continue to rely on oil instead of developing useful alternatives.

I've been watched a bunch of documentaries lately. I'm ready for this fight ;>

Don't drink too much of the Kool-Aid. It will give you a tummy ache and/or turn you into a raging hypocrite alarmist like manbearpig A.K.A. algore.

Default Dr, I have seen better coming out of your camp

35km/h translates into=21.75 mph. I dont know about you folks, but that is slow. Can you imagine watching a race at just under 22 mph? You can get that with a TL-01 and a good li-po pack.

I am going to wait for the Integy and/ or Trinity knockoff to come out, I am sure they will be less expensive, then I will buy.

I think Al Gore ordered 10 of them. One for each of his houses.

Besides a big price tag it is a very nice piece of power. Have any of you driven a stock tt-01 with a silver can, it's SLOOOOWWWW. Use this and brushless and we'll see how it does.

They're aiming for TCS. Don't mess.

In all seriousness... The technology has potential, but that's about all it has at this point in time.
