Default Can Novak 4.5R run on Mamba Max

Can the Novak 4.5R motor be run with the Mamba speed controller. I know that 4.5R is a sensor motor. But would it run if I dont connect the sensor cable.

Yes, it will work. The Mamba uses back EMF to sense where the rotor is so it doesn't need the sensors located in the motor. CC is also working on an update to the Mamba software to allow it to run wye wound brushless motors( Novak, LRP etc) better. Don

Sadly, those of us waiting for that upgrade have lost hope.

Hmmm...I got one Yes and one No (until some kind of upgrade).

Have another question. Would a 4.5R have similar performance to the 7700kv mamba. Which would be better for T/C?

Yes, it will work, but you'll probably have to push start the car each time it comes to a stop, efficiency will be horrible, and you'll probably thermal (all of this straight out of the CC engineer's mouth). Once the software update for sensored motors is released, all of this should be sorted, but like adamge said.. those of us waiting for the update are losing hope. I was planning on holding out but ended up just getting the GTB instead...
