Default WC IB4200

Yeaklet/SeanB

We have been using SMC WC 4200 for since they became available - six packs NO PROBLEMS. All were bought off the shelf. Not sponsored by SMC.
It is totally unreasonable to make these sort of statements without providing any evidence to back it up.

You might have been very unlucky but the odds are against it.

I'd look closer to home - did you cook the cells when you were soldering them?

regards

Don

There is a way to make a dead cell alive again.. You need to short it out with one of the other cell in the pack.. it will bring it back.. Venting generally doesnt hurt the packs.. I have also heard alot of people dead shorting the older packs.. this seems to bring alot of life back to them.. however you lose about a minute of discharge time..
a dead cell will stay dead.
the new cells are good and wont die, unless you bake them.

How come it seems that people who can't take care of their batteries are always complaing that they only last 2 months or whatever their story is. If you have a good routine of battery maintenance, I don't see why anyone is bitching about poor quality cells. Have you guys ever thought it was something that you are doing to the cells? No of course not, you are perfect . Before you go on a blaming spree, look at yourself as the problem.

the batts were made using a deans jig and a hakko 936 with the big tip so its not a poor build job at all thank you much and also ive been in this hobby for 10 plus years and only race so i do know whats going on. also i have freinds who are sponsered and have ib's blow all the time there are tons of people having problems with the ib cells and brand new packs to go bad you would have to be a retard with your stuff.

Is it a valid argument that just because your "sponsered" buddy blows his batteries, they suck? I don't see how anyone can take you seriously because you don't seem to have grasped the fact that typing with incorrect grammar portrays you poorly.

What about a hobby shop with a new pack that has a dead cell???
What about the same hobby shop with six packs that have dead cells???
Three different matchers and at least six bad cells in the last two months!!

Just because it didn't happen to you doesn't mean it didn't happen.

My experience. 24pcs IB4200WC cells. 6pcs failed (seriously reduced capacity or extreme self-discharge) after about 30 cycles.

My conclusion: This product is bad for the health of electric racing.
