Default Mod motor tuning for 4 cell 12th scale?

Lets say I got an Orion V2 13X2 I want to put in a 12th scale. What brush, spring and timing would I want for 12th scale 4 cells? Also; whats a good starting rollout?

Most guys would use a 9x2 or a 10 of some sort with four cells in a 12th scale, you will get better info if you ask the right questions..Hope this helps..

yea,

I agree,

If you want to practice with the 13t it would be O.K. to get a feel for the power but if you want to race mod you have to step it up to a 9 or 10t!

Roll a 10 out to a 1.61 and a 9t to a 1.54

Have fun and remember you cannot pass anyone from a board!

just to clear everyones minds

i have a friend who raced 1/12 mod 4 cells with a 19 turn and was
running a strong race but coming down a little short on the straight

the motor i think was tuned for 6 cells

with the right gearing a 19turn can beat a 7 turn or a 9 turn in 1/12 mod

dont think the lower the wind the faster you are

lower the wind the higher you can gear on accounta the more torque

the track was meadium speed with tight turns

think about it

Use the med/hard springs, start with 5mm of timing, use the new oj edition endbell with the small brushes. As far as gearing with a 44-45mm rear tire, try starting out at 32-33/100

Thanks for the replies.

I run 19T regularly (yes I can run a clean 8 minutes but I'm no rocket). I just wanted to put in a mild mod to see what it feels like. I don't see how thats asking the wrong question. Someone who gives me the right answer would mean I don't have to figure it out myself.

Nevermind what the pro's run.... I'm no where close!.. Makes more sense to go slower than to break my car for no good reason.
