not knowing what kind of car/truck etc. that's a hard question to answer...

I can tell you the 3.5 is rated at 10,500 rpm PER VOLT unloaded. If you run it with LIPO's it'll turn close to 90,000 rpm and probably close to 60,000 under load.

Hello Hein, my fellow South African.

i also currently run the 3.5 Novak system. you want to have the car geared in the 11~11.25 zone. this gearing is based around rubber tyres where the diameter would usually be in the region of 64mm. so with foams you can calculate you rollout and gearing as you wear down. you should also monitor the temps on your motor and don't want it to ever get hotter that 79degrees celsius. the syste has a thermal shutdown feature, but you should also monitor the temps with a temp gun. you will definitely be flying with the 3.5R. i watched you drive at the last Nationals. you were on fire!!! so i take it you will be running the brushless at K90 Nats?

hope this helps
Paul

Hey Paul

havent yet desided on what iam running at the nats Brush or Brushless, i went to practice at k90 a couple of times this year already and managed to do 24 laps in most of my races and 24 laps is the pace to beat! Now i nw the brush system works at k90 and after the race i have about 200 secs left in my batt, which i think is gr8!
but the guys that runs brushless like Micheal and Wimpie are just as good through the infield (not that k90 has mush of a infield) my car is gr8 and make meters on them but down the straight the pass me like im looking for parking! Now i reckon if i get the brushless sorted out i will be as quick as them on the straight and even quicker through the infield!

But like i said i need to start playing with the brushless system just 2 c where i am!

Are u racing this nationals at K90?

i won't be running the K90 Nats.

what are the other guys running, brushed or brushless. i am sure that with the brushless you will have the speed on the straight. but yes, i suppose you do need to find the sweet spot for the gearing with the brushless for the K90 track.

what brushed setup are you running?
