So, this is the bonded rotor motor, and the SS series has the sintered rotor? That's the only difference?

Tower says $59.99 for the motors, $129.99 for the ESC, and $179.99 for the combo. The system is priced very competitively.

hmm ok, so how is it different to the SS4300, 5800 motors that were already available in 2005/06 (non sintered and ribbed)

Updated solder tabs. Updated endbell with larger bearing and newer rotor. The endbell can handle the sintered rotor as a standalone upgrade, the old motors required a new endbell.

Actually, I think I'm wrong. It looks like these come with the old SS endbell and rotor. That's a little surprising. It seems like they're the old motors with updated solder tabs and a much lower price. Not a bad deal, really. The gold ring, though... ugh. I mean, gold? Really?

good thing they didnt make it purple again. with all the running changes done with the purple motor, u need to keep reading all the time just to follow whats going on.

a new color will help identification better. i think their trying for the novak orange?

This is great! Novak leading the way with affordable BL, Castle is under $200, now novak. For a little more money than a GTX you can get the whole system, no more excuses!

That's good to see a competitive priced product. Kinda surprised they didn't go with the large front bearing for easy/cheap sintered rotor upgrade. I'm sure there is some reason behind it.

1000 people will buy it because it is gold and not purple; 1000 people will hold off because it is gold and not blue, and another 50 or so will buy it just to get the gold motor ring to put on their Velociti motor.
Oh, and don't forget the 3 people who will have their car anodized gold to match the motor!
