stock v. modified
yes....this is a rookie question....but what is diff between stock and modified motors?
|
motors...
keeping it simple...
mods are faster then stock mods have adjustable timing mods are more expensive :D |
thanks! so which would be better to use? mod?
|
one really isn't better than the other. I just depends what you want to do. If you are racing then you need to decide if you want to race mod or stock. I race stock simply because my driving skills are not up to the task of controlling a mod powered car. If you just bash and want to beat your friends racing down the street then a cheaper mod may be for you.
Hope this helps Matt |
oo...okay thanks. mod is for me
|
mods..
also if you are just bashing i would pick up a machine would mod motor instead of handwound.
they are a little cheaper. |
alritey...but im not planning to crash intetionally (sp?) but im bound for crashing...hehehe:lol:  :ha:
|
stock :
27 turns fixed timing bushing mod : any turns from 5 to 27 turns u can set the timing (sometimes noton cheap modifieds) bushing ou bearing handwound or machine wound cheapest mod is cheaper than a stock before choosing one, see which kind of rac you want to attend, if u are a beginner go for stock it will be a better school for driving, you can use mods for practice (i heard you said u have several motors) read carefully this page, it will help you a lot to how a motor works http://www.balakracing.com/commcutting.htm an evo3 is a pretty good car for a beginner!you're lucky my first car was just a crap (tamiya super astute!) |
evo 3 was my 3rd car...hehe...started w/ TL and then w/ TB01 then now E3....do you know the diff between a EX and GT classes for racing? im thinking of joining races. thanks
