Default Anybody interested in custom parts ? (chassis,a-arms,motor mounts, shock towers etc)

Hey Guys,
I am thinking about starting to make custom parts for people. Such as a-arms , shocktowers, motor mounts , chassis's ,servo mounts, Etc out of 1/4" lexan. I am wondering if anybody would be interested in some parts? I could make parts for pretty much any vehicle I would just need a mock up or the stock part to trace. I could make parts for relatively cheap too. Let me know if you guys have any interest. Here are some pics of some parts I have made..
Thanks Ethan

wow thats cool i would like to see a whole car done in that like a jrxs type-r lol....and then you get the l.e.d strip and go around the edges of the car and make the chassis glow

Its my custom Team Associated TR3 (tc3 truggy) you can find it here http://rctech.net/forum/showthread.php?t=146640 The parts are very strong. I have heard that this material is actually literally bulletproof its the same kind of stuff used in bulletprrof windows and shield. here are some more pics.

A viable business as long as the parts are not cut by hand

OK I am on those pics. Actually the parts are hand made unfortunatly I have no access to a mill or cnc. Though I find that the cuts are pretty good. Peace Ethan

you could make a stamp out of sharpened bits of metal for some parts... as long as you make a stand for it it should be ok

Interesting Idea. So you would stamp the parts out of the lexan? Sounds like that would take alot of man power. Peace Ethan

I stumbled across this thread yesterday, and seeing as I'm currently working on my own home-built chassis, it caught my attention.

My wife suggested to that I make my chassis out of lexan, but I dissmissed that idea as I thought that it would be too brittle. After reading about your successful attempt with lexan, I've reconsidered and have already cut out the bottom decks for two chassis. ( still have to mill out key areas to remove the "slab" look )

I've been looking on both your website and Ultimate RC, which you give the links to, but I can't find any additional pictures of your truggy. Any chance you could re-post those pics?

In the mean time, I'll continue work on my chassis which will be used for on-road carpet racing and I'll be sure to post up my finished product.

ummm....flex and durabulity...these are 2 issues here, it does look good, but it will not hold up under any ruff or racing conditions, this is a good idea for making prototype parts, and mock fitting things togther befor you cut out of graphite or have parts molded! I like the thought! nice work

I will be testing these parts for durability. I am a basher and thats the most important for me. I have heard these parts are very strong. So we will see. Peace ethan
