Default Roar and Mod Touring Bodies

I just wanted to ask everyones opinion on something I've been thinking about. How would everyone feel if Roar made a new rule or actually opened up alittle for body choices for Mod Touring? Basically calling Mod Touring the Sports Car Class. Instead of running Touring Car bodies in Mod Touring... why not run Sports Car bodies instead?! Bodies like Corvettes, Porsches, Ferrari, Panoz, Lotus, Vipers, NSK, etc, etc. Keep Stock Touring with Sedan/Touring Bodies. And move the Mod cars to Sports Car. Any thoughts on this idea? Comments?

seems like a fair idea but...........did you ever wonder why there are so many stratus bodies running and so many different styles of it?? reason is because it works. most of the other bodies you mentioned dont have the proper aerodynamics for handeling. not to bust your bubble or anything but my vote is nope.. sorry

I knew that comment was gonna come. But it seems now the Alfa body is better than the Stratus. That and other bodies do well over seas. But it's not like we can run other bodies to make a fare assumption of what's better than a "Stratus". Right now it's just the best "legal" body. If a new rule was implemented, I'm sure we'd see some changes. But I'm sure we'd see a dominate body show up too if that were the case.

At the ROAR Nat's last year in Colorado, there was a spec touring two door class. Lots of hondas and acuras there.

Well, I wasn't thru! Mashed too many button's,LOL. Anyway's, it would be cool to open up the body rule. I think most bodies would be more competative if more design and thought were put into the wing size ,style, and location.
Talk to ya later......Schue Pilot

I am all for the opening up of the body rule. I don't think it should go all the way to GTP bodies, but having 2 door bodies added, "sportcars" would be great.

Last years HPI worlds I believe they outlawed the Stratus, to force a more diverse field of bodies in the races. I think more races should do similar rules. Just so week can see more cars out there.
