If you want rubber tyre Vegas is the place to be. the flavor with the international drivers is awesome. Even the other classes are real cool, like I ran against Franz Heinsbroek, a real nice guy from somewhere in Europe. Had a great battle with him in the "E" 12th stock race. It was the biggest onroad entree race last year 550. Less then 100 12th scale but then it has the other 450 spread between foam and rubber TC classes, which lends itself to close racing. it's only suppose to be 450 with probably 100 12th scales this year so still a good crowd of TC good place to take the wife and kids so they can do something also. Only real downside easy rubber tyre layout so 12th and foam tc are an easy drive although lots of room to make mistakes.

Cleveland has a tradition of being a 12th scale race. Almost half of the 500 entries are 12th scale. The racing is still close as it's a foam only race for now. Hope it doesn't change. The track layouts are usually more challenging then the rest of the races. Some spots were in the 4ft wide a couple years ago. Downfall it's thanksgiving week so some people can't take time away from the family. Plus it's Cleveland and it's not a family vacation hotspot although it does have a few things to do like the rock and roll hall of fame.

Novak race TC only about 250 entrees tight racing. If you show up to just race it's a good one to go to as it's only Friday Saturday Sunday for most people. I flew in Friday night in 2006 and just to watch and the racing was great.

Snowbirds, what a spectacle, oval and onroad. Orlando in February what else could you want. Good family vacation time. only about 400 onroad and 300 oval. Long days if you run both, starts on Tuesday if you want all the practice. probably 300 TC 100 12th competition is a bit lax as most seem on a race vacation and the beer flows more then other races as far as I can tell. Layout is ok sort of a mid way between tight and wide. Still a great time. New location this year so it should be better then years past for comfort, as the old hotel location was hit and miss on whether you had AC or heat.

Roar Carpet nats venue is hit and miss. Ask anybody that was at the 2005 carpet nats what they thought of Roar. It still sells out every year 250 entries 150 tc 100 12th scale good competition. Not a vacation option as you never know what town it's going to be in. Still worth going if that's the only time you can get off.

Reedy, you get on a lottery list and hope that you can go. But you usually donít know till a couple weeks before, so plane and hotel are shaky. Was held at the Tamiya track last couple years, not sure about next year. Always good competition but sort weird on the way they use qual points I think. Itís not quite the same if I remember right. I think itís all TC also. Not a bad race if you can go to it. Not on my 10 5 list as I hate Rubber tyres.

You missed the Halloween Classic in Cleveland 225 entries mostly a weekend race. Show up Friday and go home Sunday night. Good competition. Good lot of pro drivers but close racing all around. 140 tc 80 12 th scale. Deep in the heart of foam carpet racing.

Hope this helps in your decision making.

Shane,

I understand that the rubber tire specs are finalized as Jaco Rubberz Green; but, I do not see that posted in the rules. Next time...

I am gung ho for a surprise announcement of the Novak 13.5 being approved for all stock racing this year. Gives us more time to party. Just yanking chains...Next year...

Rubber tires will be handled as follows:

We will allow unlimited practice tires to be purchased at the event.

Each racer will be allowed to purchase 4 sets of tires for qualifying and mains.

Each racer who makes the "A" main will be able to purchase 1 additional set of tires.

Practice tires may not be used for qualifying or mains.

The price of the tires will be 30 dollars a set.

We will not allow tires to be swapped between classes. I.E. if you have 19 turn rubber tires, they are 19 turn tires. If you have Stock Rubber tires, they are Stock rubber tires.

Tires will not be allowed to be altered. If there is an issue with a tire you must bring it to Jamie at the tech table during the event and he will make the decision.

Each set of tires will be stickered by the racer, marked by the event staff, and teched by the tech crew while going through tech.

These rules are subject to be added to or changed as necessary.

If anyone has questions or concerns please email me at [email protected]

The stock motor information will be announce this week.

Boomer

Hi all,

The Sponsors page has been updated on the site. Handout motor will be announced this week as I think was already posted.

I also stuck this guy to the top. I leave for Las Vegas 5 weeks from today!

Default ****IMPORTANT***** 2007 IIC Hotel

It has come to our attention that we need to address this immediately. We addressed this in previous years and it was posted on the website in Scotty's intro back in April Here

Last year I did a break down of the benefit of using the code. Here is the post with the reason for our request.

If you do not use the code during the race. They will not know you are part of the IIC for your whole stay. The IIC will not get recognized for putting people into the hotel. This would not be a good thing for consideration for future years.

Please help us in our attempt to show the hotel that this is a viable event for them to support and in turn we will have a permanent home for the IIC.
Here is the hotel information. The hours of operation for the phone number are Monday thru Friday 6AM to 12AM, Saturday and Sunday 7AM to 12AM Las Vegas time.

1-866-791-7626 use the code *********IIC 2007************
for our special group rate. For those of you who did not attend the IIC last year, the hotel is awesome!! The rooms have probably the best beds around. 42" Plasma on the wall. Very nice pillows and comforters. Large Bathrooms and the hotel has a ton of stuff to do, plus they are opening their brand new nightclub.

THE HOTEL REQUIRES A FIRST NIGHTS DEPOSIT OF ROOM AND TAX PER ROOM. TO GUARANTEE INDIVIDUAL RESERVATIONS AND THE CREDIT CARD WILL BE CHARGED THE FIRST NIGHTS ROOM AND TAX. THE HOTEL ACCEPTS ALL MAJOR CREDIT CARDS FOR THE DEPOSIT AND THE CREDIT CARD WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE STIPULATED ROOM AND TAX. GUARANTEED RESERVATIONS WILL BE HELD UNTIL 6:00AM ON THE FOLLOWING DATE.

Thanks,
Scotty
If anyone has questions or concerns about this please pm me or email me directly at [email protected]

Thanks

We understand a lot of you are sharing a room with fellow racers. That is great, you are set! Please email me @ [email protected] with who you are rooming with. Remember the hotel security staff checks room keys all day when you are trying to go to your room. No Key and they will not let you up to you room.

Please check your email. This has been sent to every entrant who put an email address when they registered for the race. If you did not get the email, either there was not an email address or it was filtered out as junk mail. Check your junk mail folder. I have received a few returned via problems with the addresses. That is why I am posting it here.

Please pass this info along to all of the people that you know are coming to the 2007 IIC.

Here is the email....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good morning everyone.
We are 1 month and 5 days away from what we hope will be the best International Indoor Championships so far. We hope everyone is getting as excited as we are.
We set this race up to be for the racers. We wanted to give you an experience that is not like other races. We try to give the racers value for their entry fee. We have listened to the feedback from the previous races and have addressed the issues that are under our control.

As with previous years, the only prerequisite was that you have to stay at the host hotel. We were notified by the hotel this week that the hotel is "oversold" for our week. We have a block of rooms reserved for our race and is going to be closed on August 25th. Once the 25th comes, the South Point Hotel will take our unused rooms and release them to the people that have been over sold to. There will be no more rooms and you will not be allowed to race and there will be no refund.
People have been putting off getting the reservations. The time to do it is now. A lot of you do not have a reservation at the hotel. If you do not have a room at the hotel YOU WILL NOT RACE.

Call the South Point Hotel at 1-866-791-7626 or 702-796-7111 Book your reservations using the code IIC 2007

For us to be able to hold the IIC at the South Point Hotel we need to fill our block of rooms.

Please do not wait anymore. Make it easy on yourself, get your room and be able to enjoy our event to the fullest.

If you have already reserved your room at the hotel, Thank you

As always email me at [email protected] with questions and concerns.

See you at THE SHOW! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqNdUMwTqVA

Best regards
Boomer

What is the hotel rate at South Point for IIC participants?

I believe I have the answer. It has to do with tire diameter. Foam tires are smaller than Rubber tires and that is the reason for the rule.
