Question about futaba radios
#1

I want a new radio,... and I want a 3pk, but it seems there are a lot of subtle differences in the models... I just want someone to throw me a bone... the futaba site doesn't say very much.
What's the difference between a
3pk super
3pk super synthesizer
I assume HR is high response system... meaning it has low latency times
and PCM is the "regular"?
Are there any "un-super" versions that I should consider?
Sorry for the newbie question

The 3pk super can be used in hrs or pcm mode, the only difference when buying is you either get an hrs receiver or pcm one.The synthesizer version uses no crystals as far as i am aware but can be used in either pcm or hrs.
So all you need to decide is do you want hrs or pcm (hrs rx you need digital servos) and do you want to use crystals.

so...
the super = hrs + pcm mode but crystals
the super syn. = hrs + pcm mode but no crystals
older 3pk vs super 3pk and newer = new visual layout and buttons
?? did i get all that straight or did i fudge myself some more?

There's a bulk buy for this radio going on now in the For Sale thread. The guy organizing it has done it a couple of other times and people keep asking him to do another. It's a great deal - $225 for radio (transmitter only) and $155 for the FASST system. That's shipped.
BTW, I love mine, it's a great radio. I think it's the best of the top three (the others being M11 and Helios).

The super also comes with 20 model memory standard (vs. 10 on the previous model), and you can still add the module for 10 more models.

For me, I think all the high end radios will do about the same thing. They are all very nice radios. Try to find some guys at your local track with the radios in question. Go by how they feel in your hand and how the menus feel to you scrolling around.
If the greatest radio in the world feels like crap in your hands, how great is it? That's the question.
I have a M8 with Spektrum, you'll have to pry it out of my cold, dead hand.
