yea, there are alot of familiar names there.

To all those who didn't make the cut, one or two weeks prior to the race there are usually several cancellations. But the only thing is it won't be announced. You would have to call Tamiya and leave yourself as an alternate.

gdcopbadcop,

I tried to substitute last year and they didn't allow it. They would take the next person on the waiting list.

Does anyone know which insert is in the cs 27 spec tires?
Is it the thicker grey ones or the thinner blue ones?
Thanks in advance.

Its the thinner blue ones with more air gap mike, no one should have any problems with traction.

Wow, how did you know that? Is that what they used last year?

Hi Guys,

We just got our shipment of the pre-mounted CS27 tires in stock. These are mounted with the blue thinner inserts, which is the same compound that will be used at the Reedy Race again this year (I checked with Paul Wynn over at Schumacher). The only difference is they will have a stronger rim for the ones that they hand out at the Reedy Race. But the tire and insert combo is the same.

Thanks

Steve Wang

We were using spec tires over at Tamiya last weekend and had pretty good traction. But mid day when the track temp was at it's peak. We would lose traction after a few laps, it seem like it breaks down on very high temps. As soon as it cooled off, we had very consistent traction again and got one extra lap on our final run out of 4. Fred, was testing the AMB system so we had a chance to do mock up reedy style races.

Did he say anything about putting the "stronger" rims in all of the newer take off tires or are they just for that race?
