hey guys does anyone know how to get off a rounded pinion screw?

you can buy a special tool i think. Sort of like a bearing puller but it has a shaft that pushes against the motor shaft and a claw that grabs the pinion. you then wind it up and it forces the pinion off. i "think".

You can save that hex wrench by cutting off the tip/screw with a dremel. Cheapo L-shaped wrenches that is.

Slot car pinion puller
Get yourself a slot car pinion puller. I got a pinion puller at the LHS that has three different size tips for different size motor shafts. Works great. Then you can easily get the set screw out.

get a pinion puller (or better yet, split the cost among your rc buddies ) for the next stripped pinion accident
