Default Any issues remain with the GTB smoking?

I really appreciate Novak's service, and I'd prefer to get a GTB over the Sphere Comp, even though the Comp has been updated.

In fact, I just bought a Comp, and it's defective (can't enter mode selection and it doesn't properly center the throttle during setup).

The speedo is going into a T2 '007 with a Novak 13.5 with the latest EP4200's... but I remember when the GTB was released, the higher voltage IB3800's were a little too much for it to handle.

Has this been addressed? Anyone see a GTB go up in smoke recently?

Thanks

I have been running it with the 13.5 for about 5 weeks now with the 3800 and 4200 batteries without any problems.

We have a dozen guys running them with the 4300 motor and 4200s in touring cars without any trouble. We run 7 minute heats too.

Yes mine went up in a blaze of glory 2 weeks ago. Sent all the marshalls running for the extinguisher. Not sure what caused it as its too badly damaged. It was the first model and has been running fine with a 3.5 for the past 5 months with 6000 lipo and IB4200's.
I am looking at a GM although its hard to beat Novak service. Charlie Rules

i've seen quite a few of them go up in smoke and i don't really care for novak at all just from past problems with there speedos... although i have never used a brushless speedo from novak... I seen 2 in the same weekend go up in a TON of smoke and i told my self then i would still never go back to them...

But Charlie is the man... i also have seen those guys get there stuff fixed no problems... They have GREAT customer service...

But I HIGHLY suggest a speed passion esc... i love mine to death and will never run anything else.. And shawn and adam are spot on with the help along with others on here...

I didn't find Novak customer service helpful when I called.
