I think the post goes through that mount and then through the body. the mount let you make fine adjustments to the body height by screwing it up or down rather than moving a body pin up or down on the holes.

Hmm. Looks kinda like the place where that little rubber grommit is is where the lexan fits between it. What other purpose would it have? Heh really don't know. Is the inside of that mount threaded??

The body rests on top of the hole assembly. The o-ring puts friction on the threads so that it doesn't change adjustment while you are driving.
