Hey, Howard. Great racing yesterday. Your car looked strong. You pulled out of the main though, What happened? Did the yellow car get you too?

Harley, thanks for the setup. When I started making the changes I noticed I had mixed up my shocks when I rebuilt the car after the conversion and had one front and rear shock on the front of the car and on the back so I'm not sure how much was setup and how much the shocks, but the car was really good yesterday. I was very competitve with Howard's car. It's still not quite as good as my other TC3, but I run a one-way in it and I have a diff in the Warpspeed. Plus I've been driving my other TC3 for two years. The track yesterday had pretty good traction but your setup was still a little too stiff. I changed from copper/red to red/gold and it was on. A little more tweaking and it'll be ready for the Reedy.

dotman, i did pretty good too this weekend, i came in second in mod. do you run stock or mod? i havent tried the one way yet but i will try it this weekend. i will try the red/copper and i will let you know how it goes. i have to say i do have the stock car all drilled out, and the warpspeed out performs the stock chassis. but everybodies driving style is different. could you post your
set up? i would like to see it, so i could try it too. i received my
diff cases today. they look sweet. i will be trying them this weekend. CANT WAIT!!!!

Cool...I didn't know they were out yet. I have to order a set. As far as setup...I'm using yours except with red/gold on the Warpspeed. On the other car, my setup is:

Front

Red Springs
40wt oil
2 hole piston
rear shock tower in front
shock mounted in second hole from outside
outer hole on arm
One-way
4 degree castor blocks
0 kickup
camber-link in upper-inner hole
standard steering rack
0 toe in/out

Rear

Gold Springs
50wt oil
2 hole piston
shock mounted in outer hole
outer hole on arm
2 degree toe
2 degree antisquat
camber-link in upper-inner hole
camber-link in stock position on hub
standard TC3 hub
milled chassis (thanks Mike Webb. The car is awesome)

motor:Monster Horsepower-E-brushes-red springs
gearing:100/34
Body:Protoform Stratus 2.0

When traction is not so good I use the old Proto Stratus body but when traction is medium to high I use the New Stratus body. It gives noticeably more steering. With this setup, I was able to run with the expert guys. We ran a mixed class (sportsman and expert guy) yesterday and I finished third only because of mistakes. The first ten laps though, I had a good battle with guys that are usually top finishers in expert stock. I gave them all they could handle. The guy who won turned in the fastest lap at 15.7, but he also had the fastest motor (ballistic). My fastest was a 15.8. I think this setup would probably work well in mod too but I haven't tried it.

I also completely blow out and cleaned the bearings and filed the diff cases to free up the drivetrain. Really helped acceleration.

Yeah, I don't know how Charlie recorded 18 laps for him in the qualifiers. He was in my heat and I would lap him every two to three laps. In the main he only did 12 laps. He took out everyone in the race at least once. The thing that was really frustatrating was with all the yelling he still wouldn't get out of the way.
