During indoor season, one track is twenty minutes away, the other is an hour away. For outdoor, I run one five minutes away

We club race in Billings Montana, also, based on distance, it includes an overnight hotel stay. Just shy of 600 miles round trip.

I've calculated the price of club racing for us. Doesn't include any RC parts.

Gas @$2.50 107.00
Food, 80.00 (12 meals)
entry fees 75.00 (I pay for all of our guys)
Hotel, 65.00

Works out to about $320 to attend a club race. That's before you figure in wear and tear and depreciation on the vehicle we're driving. We have a vehicle that only goes on trips and to races. Usually 20-30 events on a vehicle and it has 25-40,000 miles on it. I estimate about $600-$1000 per trip in vehicle depreciation. 2 year old vehicle that cost $50k is now worth less than $30k, that's a $20,000 loss. Maybe a $.80 to $1.00 per mile in vehicle deprecitation.

Lethbridge, 3 weeks ago, 850 miles
Just got back from Billings, 600 miles
We have Regina this weekend, 600 miles
Spokane next weekend, 1400 miles
Colorado, 3 weeks from now, 1750 miles (should fly, but were not)

Bunch more scheduled well into the end of May.

5200 vehicle miles in about 6-7 weeks.

JEEZ, I'm starting to bum myself out!!!!
Well Bob, guess I'll keep buyin my parts from you, you need all the help you can get

Currently, I go to Willis Hobbies (on-road) weekly, which is 15 minutes from me. I could go to South Shore Hobbies(on-road and off-road), which is about 50 minutes from me. I could also go to Farmingdale Raceway(off-road), which is 15 minutes from my house. I plan on going to South Shore with my dad this weekend.

15 minutes to a good place to race for me if its off-road or on-road: two different places. S&N's Trackside is almost 2 hours from me and I used to go there every Sunday to race.

In the summer months, i have in the nationals which hold rounds all over the UK. I live in the South East of the country and Halifax is in the North. Travel on the Saterday 240miles each way. Return home on the Sunday.
Stop of a buy some flowers for the wife for letting me go.
Luck for me this is once a year.
Normal distance is about 50 -75 miles.

I drive one hour each way to my local carpet track each week. During the summer, I have 2 aspahlt tracks within 20 minutes of my house. I try to limit total travel time to 2.5 hours each way on a normal club type weekend. Anything longer and I usually will stay at a hotel.

I run at Tamiya USA on Saturdays been doing it for about 12 years (been doing it so long they gave me the key) Last time I timed it, it took about 4 1/2 min. to get there. Been spoiled so long driving anywhere else doesn't seem worth it.

You guys are troopers and very dedicated, much respect.

I run at West London (WLRC) and for me it's 9 miles. During the summer months we have people coming from South Wales (135-140miles) and I know of another guy who comes from near Snetterton 120miles and I'm sure there are others.

The first few meets of the WLRC normal summer series in 2005 had around 130 entries, it's typically around 90

If you have a good enough and well organsied venue, 'they will come'
