Which Touring Car Should I Buy
I have been out of the hobby for the past 3 years and I am ready to get back to racing touring cars. I am just not sure which one to get. I have been reading a lot about Xray, Associated, RDX, and Losi on this site and other places. I know Losi and Associated are both coming out with new ones soon and should I wait? I just do not know. My LHS runs all types but I would like to hear from all of you because I know what the hobby shop says to buy and I have one in mind but before I do buy it I would like to hear what all of you think. Cost is not a problem but making sure I get the best car for the money is. I will be racing only on carpet in the winter. Please give me all and any info for why you think the car you are selecting or telling me to buy is the best.Thanks for all of your help and I look forward to hearing your replies on this.

It's all a matter of preference. Personally, I bought mine based on what I thought of the company. Yes, it's a Tamiya. They have their TCS which is for unsponsored, nonprofessional drivers and it's fun. No other company offers that or supports everyone from beginners to experts...the poor to the rich. So, in turn, I support them. People will all have differing opinions but the truth is, go with whatever one YOU like the features of. A good driver will win with ANY chassis. MY opinion would be a Tamiya TA05. Yes it's cheaper, but regardless of looks, it will perform as well if not better than ANYTHING XRay, Losi, Associated or Hot Bodies (HPI) make. If you need the bling...I would say find a TRF415 of some kind. Just my opinion though I'm sure not the popular one.

muahdib4 is correct, almost all the popular brands are ver close to each other in design these days. I have been running xray for the last two years and have not found a reason to change yet. The kit is complete the goes together like a dream. That would be the only negitive I have for the Tamiya, two local racers just bought Tamiya and said the kits were much more difficult to build.

Xray is the Cadillac, Luxury touring sedan. But the losi and associated are the most over the counter and available. Spare of the moment sedans. Very fast and affordable. They are a great support for the tracks if you prefer on the spot service. Probably the best for the dollar and the track. But I run the Xray. Its precision made ultimate quality and a very stable and easy to drive sedan. Its very durable and and the easiest kit I've ever put together I'm talking above and beyond a perfect 10.
The down side around here is availability and cost. But if cost is not a problem. XRAY! check the local scene, were lucky to have a supplier at our track. But if you have patience wait and see what the others will offer in the future. I think there getting closer to releasing some thing?

Ck out the new Tamiya evo 5 shaft car, nice car and fairly new. I know I have 1 that is for sale but if not just for the track here shutting down I will not sell it. Look around and ck out what your local hobby shop is carrying, also ck online ordering.

X-ray T2 007. Most people at our track run either the T2R (cheap version of last years model), the T2 (last years model) or the T2 007. We've got 1 or two sLOWsi's, one or two HPI's, two or three TC4's, 1 Corally RDX (nice car), the rest are all X-ray. I love mine. I've got a T2. Durable, quality and we have great parts support at the hobby shop.

If buying now, I would say the Xray 007. If waiting until the new RDX Phi comes out, I would say that will likely a toss up between them.
However, the driver is still the most important factor.

xray do have far more drivers out there so i would love to see how the actual percentages add up

if the a main is packed full of xrays is it really that much of an achievement??
going of percentages? if there was lesser amount of xray cars and they then went on to dominate the field then fair play to them.
the biggest companies will attract the best factory drivers
its the same with golf,football,soccer,etc and so on.
im not anti xray infact i will probably get the t3 008 euse when it comes out
as the build quality is fantastic.
i bought the trf msx mre because they are rare ish.
one to watch out for is the schuey mi3ec it looks like it going to put the shitters up the xray on the rug.
