Default AMB question

I just got a AMB and installed it in my car and the question is what color should the led be? I have seen it being green. But my is yellow. Why is that?

Thanks

Yellow/Orange is normal. No things to worry.

I got some that are green and some that are orange lights. I just figured it was some that were older then others. Some I bought new and some used. They all work the same.

The color of the LED was changed when they slightly updated the transponder. Mine are all orange and they're pretty old so I assume the green one is newer.

I always thought green was the older of the two. Orange was newer, so I was told. Someone please clarify.

Here is a quote supposedly from AMB "Orange is the new color of the LED." Found it in the RC-Tech forums.

I've tried ones with both green and orange LEDs, and they both work on the "rc3".

But I have never seen that stile, are they common in the US?

They should all work. check the wires, and get the PT off the graphite chassis. also make sure you plug it in properly. I had a guy just this past sunday ranting that he knows he ran more laps than the computer was saying. after racing was over he let me know that it was plugged in backwards so it was only counting when the signal wire was pushing power. please double check this stuff.

Ed, that pt's ears have been cut off.

Yea, I kinda figured that.

But I have never seen one with an open end like that. I talked with sagino, and Terry about this, but I haven't ran into any problems yet. The oldest ones I have were bought in 01. They have plastic over the end.

We have two tracks in the area that bought the "rc" when they first came out, so there might be some around here.

I would think they should all work. AMB isn't acknowleding it yet.
