The Serpent proto looks like a T2 in the middle, with Cyclone front and rear ends.

Juraj Hudy was contracted by Serpent to make parts before he started XRAY. He still does AFAIK.

And that purple shaft drive POS is this: http://cgi.ebay.com/HIMOTO-NEW-RC-R-...em250080652469

Himoto is the OEM manufacturer.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Not the serpent, just some unknown car that's fun to trot out in new car threads.

Still mad about me moving all your tools around while you were gone, huh? :-D

Anyway, back to the thread at hand. So far, the car looks very "me too." I'm skeptical about how much the current TC design can be improved upon, but we'll see how things pan out. I'm sure they'll release a competitive car, but I'm not sure how they'll differentiate themselves from all the other competitive cars.

hmmm... so Xray comes out with a nitro TC, and Serpent produces an electric TC.. Interesting.

Has serpent ever produced an electric R/C other than this one??

that's what I thought. It would be cool if they would break the mold and create something unique, something that would set it apart. But from the reports I've read it seems to be more of the same.

Wouldn't it be cool if a manufacturer would design a kit that would be nothing but top notch. All carbon fiber components, titanium hardware, ceramic ball bearings, and Lipo ready. Add a brushless system and you have a balls out machine. That would be sweeeet. I know, a little off topic.

Yeah, that was awhile ago...(90-91?) Back then Touring car is not even there (Tamiya TA01)........it has alum bulkhead, a lot of alum...middle motor with 1 single belt to the rear....4 wheel independent suspension just like the Serpent Vector car....the whole concept is kinda like their nitro on-road, just put it on electric form..........

When I saw it, that was some high end parts and design on it....but after talked to the rep, the cost of those kit will be as high as SEARS TOWER...and almost impossible for them to go ahead and make it affordable.

But that was then....now a day, you can't even use a sub $300 and be competative......I still remembered the $100 1400SCR pro match by Trinity.
