No they are not. During some pretty brutal bench tesitng on the chassis Schu R&D found too many screws and keys interlocking the chassis and the bulkheads can cause tweaking and poor return to center from twisting loads.

It is shocking how few screws hold the lower chassis on but it was better than any other arrangment we tested.

You can change the lower chassis by removing 10 screws (including the 2 that hold the servo)

FYI, the stock Mi3 chassis will be 2mm top and bottom. The car in the pic (2mm chassis) is a little stiffer than a T2 007 with all the screws installed. There will be 2 optional top decks to increase and decrease flex.

The main reason for the stiffness we get out of the thin graphite is the type of graphite. Most R/C cars use component grade carbon laid on 0 and 90 deg angles. Schumacher uses Quasi-Isotropic laid on 90-45-0-45-90 angles.

Yes, they do have o-rings.

The Mi3 will have 1.2mm front and rear anti-roll bars in the kit.

Yes, and the production car will be two tone Purple and Pewter as pictured. The gray is just a little darker in real life. The flash makes it seem a little lighter in color.

did Cecil invent this Quasi-Isotropic laid on 90-45-0-45-90 angles or Mr Hudy?

Sorry for being a smarty but I just got done reading the "who will release first" thread.

So do you think Schumacher will have a need to release a US Spec car other than a front diff. Are the shock angles good for Carpet foams?

Oh, I already pre-ordered the Mi3

The Mi3 looks amazing and I'd love to see one running at my local track. My club is dominated by Xray and RDX sedans and this new car definitely looks like a challenger. One of our club's top drivers was spanking the guys in open mod with his Mi2, but he hasn't been out for almost a year now. Bring on the purple.

Yes, the car is being launched for the rubber tire season and will be spec'd for this. As for foam options; there will be a lower chassis, front diff, and stiffer springs

That is awesome that the car is going to be 2 tone. Purple and gunmetal grey. Can not wait to get one of these cars!

Later,

Right now we are waiting on parts being completed and passing quality control. Our best estimate is late March if everything goes as planned. If a mold runs wrong or some new part is out of spec it can cause delays but so far so good!

No Quasi has been around for a long time in full scale air planes and race cars.

There are no plans for a US Spec car at the moment. We have diffs for it and I am sure there will be a 2.5mm chassis and top deck for it.

The shock angles will be fine and the suspension will be more than fine. Since the suspension is so tuneable some of the test drivers have labled the Mi3 the "No Excuses Car". With testing the Mi3 can be setup to work on any surface with any type of tires.

Yes, the kit will come setup as an asphalt car with a front spool, 14 lb springs, thin swaybars, etc.
