wall chargers for AA nimhs

What specs would I need in a wall charger for charging gp2300mah AA's?

Ive got an old jr ni-cdcharger its:

11.6v 50ma on the Tx output

Is that safe to use on AA nimh's?

Thanks in advance.

I have four brand new wall chargers that came with my batts, but I use my R/C chargers for AAs. Two are energizer fold-ups that charge 4 batts at a time in pairs @ 360 mAh and the other two are off brand charging 4 batts two at a time @ 200 mAh. ( They are all for sale!)

You want to look for a charger with DC output of probably 15% greater than the total volts of the batts in series you want to charge. (ex.: 1 batt = 1.2v*15% charge @1.38v, 8 batts = 9.6v*15%, charge @ 10.93v) You can round up the voltage without any trouble.

Generally, all the instructions I've read state that you should charge at a rate no more than 1-1/2 times the rating. 1200 mAh = 1.2A. Charge no more than 1.2v*1.5 = 1.8v, rounded up: 2 volts.
