Default Tech support, if you will?

Okay, my little brother has a HPI PRO 2 RS4, and its 4WD, and we are having trouble with the front wheels....

when ever we turn it on, it works normally, but when ever we press the trigger on the controller, the back wheels spin like they should, at full speed, but.... the front wheels will spin, but only a fraction of the speed they should, and also they sometimes will spin for like 5 seconds, slowly, and they will just stop completely....

do you think its something with the belts? or what?

i need some help, or WE need help.

Do the front axles spin like they should? If so, check the wheel hexes to see if the pins that key them to the axle are there.

If it has a one way, maybe the bearings are toast (the torington bearings otherwise known as one way bearings).
Or if its a diff, the diff may be really loose.

sounds like everyone's got this answered for you, check the belt tension, make sure it's not slipping (although if it is you'd probably be able to hear it), either that or the diff is toast. I think that car has two belts, someone correct me if i'm wrong. I know some of the duel belt drive cars have some kind of a one way main shaft that the spur connects to, maybe there's a problem there as well?

If it has oneway the bearings might be in backwards.

The diff might be toasted.

Yes, the car has 2 belts, one small going from the layshaft to the rear diff, and one much larger going up front.

As said, I'd probably guess the diff is loose or needs rebuilding, unless it has a 1 way which might be faulty. If youre very unlucky the diff bolt may have snapped.

I owned one for at least 2 years and rarely had a problem with belt tension, but did only use a 27t motor in it.
