@dr_h: sorry, I'm unable to comment on this. I work in R&D, but I'm always passing such input to the guys in charge at LRP & AE and you can be sure that both companies always try to satisfy everyone.

Our line of brushless products should be well stocked at AE soon again as far as I heard, not sure why there where so many on backorder recently.

Yes, tell us the features.....

I wonder why it takes so long to release the new Pulsar 3 (with Li-Po function) ?

And how about LRP Li-po packs, will you make it as well ?

Well, they do have this...

http://www.hpcmodelsports.com/hpc2006/products2006.htm

There's very little info on the net about it but my LHS sells them so I'll try one. Let you guys know soon. Waiting for a LiPo charger to get back to me.

As some of you realised, we released an entire line of LiPo packs in autumn 2006. This is very succesfull so far and people like our packs performance- and price-wise.
A hard-cased pack is not something we'll be releasing very soon, if this was the question.

Pulsar-3 specs, well... read the news page...

Exact details to be announced soon, but here's a rough lineup with the main changes of the Pulsar3 over the Pulsar2 (just from my memory...):

- LiPo charge mode (1-3 cells)
- Multi-Step charging (adjust capacity and current)
- Partial Charge Mode (to care your packs better and leave some juice in them for storage)
- Display of peak voltage at end of charge (good indication if pack is in good shape)
- Motor Run-In (Volt Out) from 1.0 to 12.0V (before 2.0 - 7.2)
- Motor Run-In (Volt Out) with 20A (before 14A)
- More accurate measurements/maths for matching/discharge
- Voltage calibration mode
- 4 user profiles/memorys

One of the nicest things about LiPo is that you can use tiny chargers. Big chargers trying to do LiPo will go the way of big dinosaurs. I'm a fan of quality, but plenty of reputable companies are producing small, clever chargers that don't resemble a desktop PC like the Turbo 35. For people that travel to big races, why wouldn't you want the smallest equipment possible?

Unless, of course, it's the same kind of guys that buy giant trucks to go to and from the strip mall... and strip club.
