Arrow Looking to get a new stock motor----

I am currently running a Trinity P2K2 Pro Stock motor and I love it. That is the only motor I have and I am looking into getting another stock motor.

I have been looking at the following three:
----------------------------------------
Trinity Monster Horsepower Stock Pro
(Basically an improved P2K2 Pro)
----------------------------------------
Trinity P2K Pro
(High Torque)
----------------------------------------
Trinity Green Machine 3 Pro
(High RPM)
----------------------------------------
Now, let me understand this. Higher torque means that you will get more top end speed and more RPM's will give you more off the line. Is that right? If not, then it is the other way around.

What one would you suggest that I look at getting?

I am no expert but it would seem torque is what you would want to get off the line quickly. I use a P2k2 but just got a Reedy MVP and a Orion Core stock to play around with on the Dyno. If you havn't already I would check out Big Jims motor forum. There is all the information you will ever need about motors

The New Monster Stock seems to be the Hot Ticket right now

The monster stock is the fastest thing out right now. You can drop a couple teeth from a p2k2 and still have the same rip off the line but with more top-end and more midrange power.

If you love your P2K2 then stick with it. It is one of the best all around motors out there, plenty of torque and good rpm's. I would only suggest that if you want to try something different, then maybe go with a putnam, or fantum tuned P2K2's. As far as the new monster being a upgraded P2K2 with more RPM's, your half right. The monster is P2K2 based, but it actually is the replacement for the green machine (GM3) motor which everyone was burning up left and right.

I just wanna get a motor to mess around with. I want something that is going to be faster than the P2K2 Pro that I have right now. I was thinking about maybe going into modified...but then I said NAH! I just wanna stick with stock racing. So should I go with the Monster Hosrepower Stock Pro?

unknown;

Be warned that the Monster Stock requires a radically different gear ratio to work effectively. Something close to 8.0 Final Drive Ratio for small to medium sized tracks. A P2K is usually less than 6.9 FDR.
I would stay away from the GM3's unless you plan on carrying a Fire Extinguisher. The MS will probably make the GM3 obsolete anyways.

It's all in the Gearing. A P2K can be as Fast as an MS and vice-versa. Just depends on how well you are at choosing gearing and tuning Motors.

Default ya you got it wrong

torque= power out of corner
RPM= top end
Yet if you get gearing right you can mak a torque motor to have some good high end...I am currently running a P2K (which is extremely torquey) and geared right I can actually make it a fairly high end type motor......yet currently I know that the monster stock is a super high end motor....the p2k2 is kinda best of both worlds......now for which one...it all depends on what kinda racing your doing and what it is going into...I know the guy's around here love the P2K for off road
anyways check out Big Jims forum and lots of info on here

torque = low end speed (punch)
RPM = high end speed ( top end)

Any suggestions on how to make a p2k2 pro go faster ??

i ran mine the other day and it was very slow .. alot of people say they are pretty quick..

From what Big Jim says, the single best improvement you can make to your motor is to get the brush hood alignment correct. I have just started tweaking on motors and according to my Robitronics dyno it made a pretty big diffrence but I must admit I have not had a chance to try it on the track yet. Also Trinity Red spring on the + side and a green spring on the - side seemed to also improve dyno preformance.

Default no way you need to align hoods

I can vouche for that being one of the biggest things you can do...I took a motor out and it was crap...aligned hoods and changed nothing!!!! else and after it ran like a charm....plus I have read that yess it is greatly important
