I have a spring dyno and I have tested all of my springs. You'd be surprised how much variation there is in them. I have some springs that are actually firmer than the next color up, some that are softer than the next color down, etc - and pairs of the same color that are VERY different. I went through and made matched pairs and sorted them by the actual measurements instead of just assuming that they are all how they are colored. This was with Associated springs BTW - the HPI springs I have were all dead-on what they were supposed to be and very consistent.
