Default Schottky diode

The V7.1 came with a Schottky diode and some capacitors. Is it really required to solder the Schottky? My motor already has 3 SMT caps installed.

Thanks.

The SR might be to punchy for mod racing. You need to have that smooth presise control in mod because they go alot faster and you need to regulate the speed more. It will make it feel like an on/off switch. That's kinda what you want in stock sedan. It's just your personal prefrence. I still use the mod profile on my cyclone for stock.

You dont have to use a schotty if you dont want too. For stock racing I cant tell the diference between a motor with one and a motor without. My times dont change either between me running one and not.

Thanks for the replies. Does the V7.1 suppose to make like a high pitch sound everytime throttle is engaged? Also does the red bottom LED should light up if throttle is at neutral? I thought it should only light up when in brake. Sorry to ask this question because the manual is a little vague.

Thanks again.

If you get the MX-3 (or something similar) later on, then most of the lack-of-punch-problem, can be trimmed out. But the 7.1 is not THAT bad for stock, so you can use it and still be fast. It's more about feel, than regular speed. Maybe you can try out your frinds ESC and/or car? Then you know how it feels...

Personally i don't like novak because of he color. THat's why I'm going to get the Lrp 7.1! Thanks cole for the advice. One of my friend had the 7.1, and te other had the SR. I like the feel of the 7.1 even though i stock race, i do feel i might get into Modify some day............
