Motor Capacitors and Spektrum

Hi,

I was wondering what the main purpose for the capacitors on a motor is? As I run a Spektrum, are they necessary? Are they a performance aid or just there to stop electrical noise from the motor?

Cheers,

Tim.

They are there to prevent interference from the motor.

With Spektrum they aren't really necessary but I still solder mine on none the less.
It would be just my luck that my motors would cause interference in the car next to me which causes a pile up
