I am currently looking to purchase a tire truer, I want to spend under $200... I need it to do Touring car tires and Trinity Spec car tires for now...What do you recommend and where is the best place to find it? I heard that the Cobra trackside one does not work that well, let me know your opinions... thanks Jeff

here you go this is what Ive been using for the past year and it works great and I can also use it for my 1/12th scale and all for less than a $100.00, it cmes with extra blades and you can true tires with camber angle to them.

This is the tire lathe I have.. I think it can be had either at tower or locally for abouit $125-ish. Like their lightweight lower priced model, it comes with extra blades. an advantage is that it uses the same arbors as the ofna and Hudy, allowing you to keep the arbors and upgrade the truer at a later date when you decide that you like the frills and big$$ of a Hudy. I went as far as installing a hudy cutter (needs to be thinned) in place of the blades that it comes with. Cuts really good. Requires 12v like the other integy mentioned earlier.

Look at the integies to. One thing to keep in mind is how much power does it take to operate it. To get my hudy to work well I had to get a 30 amp power supply. Good luck, that manual one would be the least amount of trouble in the case some one wanted to borrow it at the track. Less to go wrong with it.

I was just browsing some sites and noticed that some of the truers only do touring car tires, like the integy one on tower hobbies site...The truer will be used for my trinity spec car and TC4 touring car tires...Can you guys point me in the right direction on which models will do this or at least offer adapters? thanks

If you get that one, install the Hudy carbide bit. You might have to do a little filing to get it to fit, but the cutting is so much easier and better.

I have the integy auto tire truer and it works pretty good, just get a carbide cutter. If you are looking to save some money don't get the hudy bit..... Go to your local hardware store and get carbide saw blades for ceramic tiles. The blades are cheap, about 3-4 dollars and they are pretty big so you can get about 3 or 4 pieces out of them, share it with a friend! hope this helps.

I meant to post a link, sorry. This is the model I have: Integy's site. Sorry about that.

I thought about going the route of just getting a ceramic tile saw blade, but the Hudy bit is a known quantity, and went with that. I, too, had to grind the blade thinner where it is inserted into the machine.
