Default I am too busy to race how can I keep my batts alive?

Well I bought 7 packs for racing. NIMH IB4200

I have been extremely busy making money :P which is good but I think I am burning away $1000 in batteries.

So far I have been discharging and adding 500secs into my packs and at the end of the week I will have cells that have dropped to what my DPD says is 0.0v

What should I be doing because this is not working! I need to leave my packs for a week or two at a time.

What can I do this weekend to make sure my packs don't get any worse than they are..

Is fully charging them and discharging (cycling) them on my DPD a good idea?

I am really stressed.

Anyone else find it extremely annoying how fragile these NIMH batteries are?

I put a full charge in my cells and if they sit for more than a month I put a cycle in them. If they are going to sit for two weeks I just put 500 secs of charge in them and they are usually fine.

WOW - thoose are some expensive packs you got

Are you equalizing your packs before you put 500sec back into them?

A good rule is for every week not racing, charge the pack 500sec or 1000mah. If you are not going to be racing for a month or so, you might want to cycle your packs. The only downside to cycling your packs is that each cycle will take 4-6 runs off the packs life.

I would say sell the packs so that they don't go to waste.

Then when you've got time to race again, pick up a LiPo pack. That way, next time your too busy, you can just charge it all the way up, and let it sit for a month or two and not worry about cycling and all that junk.

Just a thought...
