Default How to match cells?

I've just bought 18 IB3800 cells unmatched to make into 3 packs. Is there a quick way of matching them using just a charger, smart tray and multimeter?

Matching is done under heavier loads than a smart tray provides. You need a way to measure average voltage and run time at 30-35 amps discharge rate.

you need to make a battery holder of some kind that can discharge a single cell at 35 amps. You also need a voltmeter and take a voltage reading about every 30 seconds or so while keeping track of how long it takes the pack to discharge to .9 volts. You're best bet is to just buy matched packs next time, or if you want to invest the money, pick up a turbo matcher.

The quick way, using the items you have, is to charge them all until they peak and then measure the time it takes to discharge to certain voltage, usually 0.9volts.

Better way is to buy or borrow TurboMatcher.
Be warned, the quick way is not a good way to match cells. The good batterymatching companies use special temperature controlled rooms and huge batches of cells when matching.
