this is exactly right, I have done this aswell. I have sold off all nimh batts and equipment, brushed motors and equipment, and now only have one lipo running a 13.5t and am spending more time on setup and practice instead of motors and charging/discharging batts. expenses are now HALF what they were. the biggest expense I have is now are the race fees

I most certainly agree. Think of the weight in support gear everyone would lose. I already try hard to fit everything into one box but with lipo and brushless my box can be smaller and lighter. Not only that but for us working stiffs who barely have time to get to the track, lipo allows us to have a battery ready to drop in for a quick practice session and also be ready for the first round of qualifying right after practice. Add that with brushless and you really have a level and competitive playing field that is inviting for others looking to jump in. No more speed tricks, just good driving and chassis set-ups.
