Default Fautly Armature

Hi Guys,

I've has the SS for about 4 months and it was working great but soemthing happened I have never seen or heard of before and was wondering if anyone else had the same problem.

The actual shaft or armature has slipped out of the magnet surrounding it. It's not loose but loose enought that teh shaft spins itself out of the magnet it's bonded too!!!!!

Has anyone else had the same problem?? gearing was fine and I didn't take any knocks....

25mm is too low. Try 27.5-29.5 mm rollout. Now matter how high you gear it you will hardly lose any torque. I've seen them @ 33mm rollout with a 5V fan to prevent thermal shutdown

I'm running 30mm rollout ,with 5V fan.No problems whatsoever.
I think yeah, even 33mm is possible without thermal shutdown.

I just bought a new 5800, does this system require any type of break-in similar to the brushed motors? Sorry about the question, I'm sure the answer is already posted somewhere on this board, I couldn't find it.

Thanks!

BL RPM

Does anyone know the BL's estimated RPM under load at max power (full throttle)? I'm trying to figure out its potential speed for 33mm rollout.

Thanx

Default pics of brushless set up

Are there any pics on the net of a brushless set up in a Xray T1R. I installed mine last night, but it looks like wires all over the car. ESC takes up the entire side of one car and the only place to mount the receiver is right above the servo.....

I know some of you fortunate few will be getting it sooner than the rest of us. Any feedback on installation, testing, setup tips etc. are all welcome.

...Was it worth the wait? Was it all that you expected it would be....... post away!!
Using a brushless motor takes away all the fun of motor tuning. I know I'll be sticking to good ole' motors with brushes. I honestly hope brushless doesn't become popular.

Yeah...and EFI takes away all the "fun" of rebuilding carburetors.

I for one, hope BL takes over soon.

there still is the oportuninty to do stuff to the motors. You can play with the bearings, zap the magnets and some other stuff. Brushless motors allow racers to have more time on the track than in the pits. I constantly see people with brushed motors running for a minute or two on the track, but when that time is over, they stop running to save motor life.
