Alex Racing Barracuda R2 & R3

One of my team drivers used the R3 during round 7 of our national championships, i.e. couple of weeks ago and he did manage to finish 2nd in the modified class making also the 2nd best time of the whole day. Quite impressive I might say, taking in consideration that he normally races with Xray and practised with the R3 only for couple of days before the actual race meeting

Good to hear the Cuda is still making results on the track.. it's still a 1'st class competition car

I installed my electonics and ran the car in the driving way checking the transmitter settings and just loved how it moved. Been tweaking on the car getting it ready for the weekend and just have a question some of you experienced cuda guys can maybe help me with. Checking the front end it has alot of play between the hubs and A-arms on the hinge pins. Should I shim it up like on the Associated TCs? I think one shim would do it. Also is it normal to have a bit of play between the axles. The axles and CVDs seem a bit loose than some of the other cars I am accustomed to. Moving inward to outward. LMK thanks again Gene

Just shim it like you would any other TC and you will be fine. You can shim the axles some but then put the tires on and tighten the nut just to make sure you have no binding after shimming the axles.

Any news about the R4?
Are the Alex guys testing the prototypes in race conditions??
Thanks

Quick one, is the front tower from the R2 the same as the one on the R3?

I am sure Dave will give us the scoop on the R4 or whatever it called as soon as he hears something.

Just a Thought. Would anyone here be interested in an R2? I got one just cuz it looked cool but have the need to part a few Cars as I now own "51" (Off-road, Oval, Touring and M-trucks [all electric]). I bot a new chassis for it off of Ebay but when I went to change it out, I discovered that I didn't need it. Oh well, better to have spares.
I run the EVO2 chassis and am plenty pleased with My 5 Xrays. I tried the R2 but the difference was too much for me to overcome and I really need to stick with one so Xray wins out fer me.
Anyhow, I have extra arms, axles and alum C-hub parts. Extra motor mounts and a box-O-parts. To keep from loosing money on it I would like to git $155 for the package. Just thought I'd see if this thread would be better than Ebay to sell it.

You might have a better chance selling it in the for sale/Trade forum rather than hijack this thread! I might be interested in the r2 as I just purchased an R3 with parts. Can you send me pics of the car and parts to [email protected] Thanks Gene
