The clear diff cases will not work on the R3 without some "SERIOUS" modifications ...

If you need some testing send a set to me, I'll do it on Sunday free of charge

Hey Dave, what have you been up to lately? been painting any nice new shells?

I should be going racing this Sunday for the first time in about 6 months Just trying to wake up my old cells now.... can't find my temp tray for the pro-trak either which would be a help

Atleast the Cuda doesn't need a rebuild, only really had one proper racing day since I last did it and it's all setup nicely for Carlisle

Do you still have an nice R2's in your garage? would like to pic one up cheap but it has to be just right for my plans. Thats if I don't give up after Sunday

Well, here are my thoughts on the alum outdrives. I ran the alum outdrives two weeks ago at a club race and I realy like them. After I built the alum outdrives I also aligned my whole drivetrain and the new outdrives actually made everything smoother. My car was already super quiet and free with the old delrin outdrives but these were better. Did a quick test of spinning the delrin diff and the alum diffs in the bulkhead and the alum ones spun longer. I think what happens over time with the delrin outdrive is the heat makes them warp very very slightly and they just spin as true anymore. Anyway, I think these alum outdrives are great. No wear at all (this is with xray driveshaft savers). Can't wait to try mod motors when the weather gets warmer. Good job speedy-932.

We tried them in Malta too. They are really good, however for modified especially do not use the soft rings cause they deteriorate very quickly. With the hard rings, no problem at all

Hmm, I may have to get myself a pair of alloy outdrives then, saves buying delrin ones every few months

Do you have any left Speedy? would like a few sets of hard rings too if you have them

Send me a PM Turbonium, pics and price would be useful

I can vouch for RcMonks car being quiet. Last time I saw him race it I thought he had a belt car but nope!!!!!! It was still his Cuda.

If only I can get the TC4 that I have been messing around with to be as quiet as my Cuda. The TC4 is really loud !! Whir whir whir....Maybe Dave has some tricks up his sleeve....

Okay, I have looked through alot of pages in this thread but hey it's over 460+ pages! Alot of good info to be had but it will take me awhile to get through them all. My R3 is enroute and plan on running it with a 19T/27T motor the weekend after this one. Can anyone give me a good set-up for the R3 on a large asphalt track it has a large straightaway and a medium difficulty infield. Should I use my current TC3/TC4 set-up? I plan on running rubbers with the car. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Gene
