OK here is what I know so far..
1) Captured sus pin A-arms..(no more ball type)
2) Shaft drive.........& Belt drive you know have a choice (but I have no idea what it looks like..??)
3) Slightly revamped shock design

wonder what's they're going to call it...

Omni- Chassis
Uber-chasis
Freedom of Choice plus (ala X-ray)

A sick Baracuda landed on my desk. Been trying to nurse it back to health via a rebuild but it has really majo. Dave, do you think there's a belt conversion for this R2 (Xenon drive system) in the future? The way I see it the only parts that could be used in a conversion are the bulkheads, dogbones, axles, hubs, uprights and the steering assembly.

As far as a new Name for the ALEX car..?? I have no Idea.... but for sure it will not be called Barracuda ...

and it "WILL NOT HAVE THE RACK STYLE STEERING"

also no Belt conversion for the Barracuda... that Idea was scraped a while back I belive...

My barracuda didnt go that badly yesturday but it wasnt anywhere near planted, managed to get the back spot in the A final and then gain a spot or two. Was really really cold and i felt like i was struggling for grip. One area of the track was tricky the car always felt unpredicatable.
The spool shakes the front CVD's to bits and the pins keep coming out, anyone got a cure?

Have you tried heatshrink around the cvd pin area? the thick stuff used on wires.

No, that should work great though, im guessing my dodgy handling off power was the pin coming out and locking the shaft up then coming lose again on power, cant be good, i put it down to funny tyres and conditions.

What sized shims are needed for the front steel axles, they are bigger than the rear ones!

I do indeed have a set up sheet for Ashby, funnt ol' thing I used a front one-way!!! Gives more turn in for the tight turns at the end of the straight and down through the alpine section towards the chicane. I can email it to you if you like, but its set for Sorex 28R tyres and the track was quite warm (well for blighty anyway ) at 18 degrees celcius.

BTW. Dave, I always thought the ball suspension holders were a strong point of the car and have never had any issues with them. I remember always having to check pins as they bend and bind up the suspension even when they look perfectly good
Must be trying to appeal to those that cant use gauges to set rear toe It also meand no more playing with the angle of the front arms to set steering feel Oh well time to go reinvent the wheel.........oh mines round too, just like everyone elses
