On the aftermarket chassis, are they going to stiffen it up other than going to a thicker graphite (similar to the 415).

Going to a R3 now Gaz.?? YOu should be able to use some of the Web Stuff that you have now the bulkheads are a tad bit different and the motor mount and steering are too but not a big deal to upgrade
and it will be a tad bit lighter than the R2 Pal version that you have now

No Big deal..
this chassis set should be 10 times stronger than the sparkle [email protected] I have killed 2 chassis in 4 runs.. High Bite Track alongwith 2x4`s are not very forgiving ---Dave

well the main thing that I wanted then todo was make the Chassis stiffer...so 3mm lower chassis was a starting point..but I also wanted the car to have a bit more fwd bias so moving the servo and batterys up 3mm will help.....And I also wanted a option to have 2 different thickness upper decks so you would be able to tune for different track surfaces(3mm and 2.2mm)

Thumbs up Black Chassis

ALso a bit of news from the Japan side of the house.. ALEX has now releasedthe Black carbon chassis set for the barracuda .. this is the same normal carbon fiber thatis on the Regular R2
the chassis set retails for 16800 Yen and it includes the upper deck ,lower deck and shock towers..

But I hope to have the other 3mm R3 chassis set lower priced than that

2 broken chassis sounds painful

So any special little features on the BMI chassis? other than cells forwards a bit and servo forward a touch. How about some optional holes for an R2 style steering assembly?

Been racing again tonight, made some progress with the setup but my brain was in go slow mode when it came to driving Just moved the top front shocks out one hole and the rears in one hole, nothing major but I don't want big changes.
We were running anti clockwise for a change tonight (my idea ) so I don't know if it was the more left hand corners that was holding me back or just not being up for it. I still took an easy second place, about half a second a lap ahead of those behind me but the guy ahead was another half second faster, which is unusual.
I'm still needing some more high speed steering, far too easy to understeer into fast corners.

Trust me Hermi..There are a few things that I have not said that I have told them to incorporate into the chassis

and as far as your on power high speed understeer..
have you tried THicker front shock oli....or reducing front droop a bit.?? also it seams like you are working backwards if you moved the front shocks out a hole..you should have layed them down a hole

Well in theory the further out the shocks are the softer the effect of them are, but then standing them up does the oposite, so yes, it is kind of confusing as to what it will actually do. They're already on the outer holes at the bottom.

Droop is probably the thing I need to play around with, I think I have too much all round, from when running indoors. I need to get some proper droop gauges.

There's no understeer when getting on the power out of corners and accelerating hard, in fact I had to tame the back end down a touch tonight, since it was really dusty. It's more or less when the car is neutral front to rear, that it's understeering, or just not carrying the corner speed I'd like.
