Also, how can I reduce the rear toe to almost zero? I race on carpet in the stock class only and in stock kit form it is way too much rear toe.

The Xenon Hubs will work just fine on the R3..... no problem what so ever

and for getting less toe in the rear you can do 2 things .... buy the offset sus arm balls or flip the rear hubs around

Dave,

That's exactly what I was trying to point out to Doug. For some racers, the car is just fine out of the box. For others (like yourself), it might lack certain characteristics (plus I think the environement you race in is much different than here) Look at good ol' Dave Berger last year, box stock R2 and nearly won the Reedy Race (kit springs and all, no modification necessary). I'm glad you clarify things by putting bold text though What I don't want is guys giving up on the car before they even try one.

wyd,

I agree with you, R/C Tech is an excellent source for information, but it is also an easy place to get false information. Sometimes I see guys post so much tuning and setup tips and then I meet them at the track and this guy is barely able to go around the track (we're talking about novice level here) so I don't see how he can validate and confirm the suggestions he provide. Sometimes I see information posted that's just plain wrong. So be careful who you ask for information on R/C Tech. By the way, the Xenon Stage 2 kit you picked up is an excellent platform, and you will be very happy with it

Thanks Steve. You are right that some info is wrong, some is right , and some is in the middle some place. Good thing that I have been around doing this for 19 years. It helps to weed out the wrong info.

I'm sure the Xenon Stage 2 Cuda setup will be awesome. I have seen nothing but great reviews on the cars and from the guys who run them. Next week can't be here soon enough. I might be able to run it but if not I will be using the week after.

I think another reason I bought the car is the great selection Speedtech carries and is a reliable source to get the parts. I have plenty of orders from you with nothing but smooth transactions and your updates to us racers on whats new and what you recieved at the shop really helps a ton.

Brian

Hey Thanks for the pics. Looks like a tight fit for electronics on the Cuda. My receiver is very small (Pico 3/4 from Multiplex). Looks like you had Yoke springs on the car. I', planning to use the Rayspeed springs on the car when it shows up.

What pistons do you use in the shocks? I saw that the HPI pistons fit which is cool since I have a bunch of them

I used the stock #2s and have no problems with them...I have a bunch of yoke springs so might as well put them to good use

I bought all the Rayspeed springs when I bought the Yoke SD when it first came out and used them on that car. They work as well as any other springs I have tried. I used them on my Pro4 as well and now I will try them on the Cuda. I have read here in this forum that a few guys use them on their Cuda's. I think Herminator is running them and I think Steve at Speedtech uses them some as well.

Once my car is ready I will post some pics of the finished product. I'm off work this Friday so if my car shows up I will be ready as my new Xenon stuff will be here Tuesday from Speedtech so I will just be waiting on the R2 to show up. I have a new Mazda 6 body painted already so if the body mounts are the right size (not cut down too far) I should have the car ready to race somewhere. I will be ordering 2 sets of body mounts along with a ton of other stuff.

I think they use the front and back posts from the yoke mr4 series.
