Thanks guys ...

Besides the standard black springs ... which other springs are worth trying for outdoor asphalt racing?

Does the R3 take springs of 1.4 or 1.5 diameter?

Thumbs up FINALLY!?!

finally completed my R3. i will post pictures later today.

survived a weekend of racing. socal sat..and rcheat on sunday.
R3 pushed onpower..hopefully i can get those things worked out.

anyone have a good asphalt setup? the drivetrain is pretty free. Steve...this sucker spins pretty good. i think the new motor mount design helps out a lot. it acts as a third shaft holder.

i did bend my new pink dog bone on sunday . those pvc pipes hurt.

also broke a c hub on the same side. thats only the second time ive broken a barracuda part. and both times it seems to be with tracks that run pvc pipe. i never broke anything at socal either. oh well.

posting pictures later today. and i remember there was discussion about a shim getting placed underneath the motormount.. i placed mine in there per the instruction manual.

here's a scary thought... ceramic bears.. alum. dog bones, Ti axles, and that carbon fiber shaft.. man thats gonna be a very light drive train.

lastly.. i ran the R3 in 19T.. very fast! now if i could find the right gearing for the reedy quad mag and more steering.... i should be okay.

1.4 and 1.5 refer to the size of wire used to make the spring..
the inner diameter is the same for the both.

The R3 comes with a graphite center propeller shaft ... is there an aluminum one available as direct replacement?

Is the standard one strong enough for modified racing?

mine held up in 19T. too bad the alum/graphite center shaft is only good for stock. its very light.
