Hi steve,

just to clarify, did you use straight 40 on your R2? how did you find it, as oppose to the 20wt oil in front and 10wt oil at the rear as suggested in the manual?

also, have you tried the diapharam on the R2? would you recommend it?

what kind of dampers do most of you use? the stock or modified?

Thanks

The stock ones work just fine

nope.. They are in the"EXPERT" class
this is the "SPORTSMAN" class which is more popular than the Expert series .... because these are your every day joe's that can turn better laps with a 23T stock motor some times that the guys with modifieds..at Yatabe..... also this race is where you see a lot of new stuff....

Surely if they're that fast they should get moved up to the "expert" class

Aren't your mod times kept a little slower though by the fact that you use 8minute runs. Wish the UK had atleast gone up to 6mins this year but no not even a change from 12 to 10 turn mods. Think I'll stick to the 19's again next year, plenty speed and much cheaper motor's Plus I have a chance of some wins

Santa is in the Far East this time of year. He actually works 365 days a year. Needs to get a jump on the Bunny, Candy Hearts, Vampires and Goblins.

should there be any resistance when i compress the dampers?
how far should the damper rod spring back after being compressed?

maybe i'm assembling them incorrectly.

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Oh i need to pimp myself to get money for a R3, broke a diff outdrive and a front hub carrier tonight racing my tc3, was absolutly fantastic in the 1st heat, allmost perfect race, few little errors and letting some people through cost me 5 seconds but an almost perfect 29 lapper. Rest of my night was crap. Broke my outdrive and spent the next heat rebuilding my diff. Theres not a lot of time inbetween heats so couldnt fix it in time. Got stuck down in the B with the kiddies as its best of two heats, i had 29 and 18 laps, they had two lots of 24 and bashed to hell in the final. Even when lapping they aim for you i swear. Broke the hub a couple of laps from the end and limped round on two wheels using my couple of laps cushion i had to take the win.
Need an R3 that i can rely on to be as fast as my tc3 but more robust. Anyone got more photos of it or a link to em?
