elnitro,

the stock tray will work if you run the spur gear on the side of the adapter that the instruction tells you to run. If you run it on the other side so you can use normal length pinions, then it'll rub against it.

By the way, I just had one of my best run with the Cuda at SoCal tonight...I'm too exhausted to post at the moment, I'll let you guys know how it went tomorrow. I'm going to bed...

whats your magic setup? I want some 19T tips since I may be running my new 19T motor on Sunday as we test our outdoor track area. Plus it's only a week Sunday until the first round of the Scottish Champs

I talked to Steve last night. He can give you more detail but it sounded like the biggest change he made was going to Pit 30's from Sorex 36's. He's still running the short span arms. I ran Pit 30's at SoCal last week and they worked really well for me. I liked them better than the Sorex too.

do you guys run Take Off's? I found mine were good last year but now I hear lots of people complaining of bad wear, with a groove down one side becuase of the newer blue insirts. I got grooving on a few on my CS 27's but it took a while to come through.
I'm wondering if I should try some Sorex tyres, although some had problems with them wearing out within a few runs last year I don't want to go through a set of tyres in a day, I managed a season on two sets of CS27's and the occasional use of CS22's, which I still have a they look in good condition. I have some nice graphite wheels ready here, so don't want to waste them on dud tyres.

Arrow CS-27's

I have been running Take-Off CS-27's since January and I have no complaints. I haven't even had one come un-glued from the rim yet. Also, I have read about the grooves showing up on the outside edges of the tire but it hasn't happened to any of mine yet. Most all of the guys that I race with run CS-27's.

I only use Yokomo, Pit Shimisu & SOREX ONLY ...Each tire company that I use has there weak points.... for example I only use the Sorex Tire in the winter because I find them softer and they wear Hella' fast ,The Pits' I use only on Outdoor Tracks that have Gas powered cars that run on the same coarse(they take well to oil) and the Yoke's I only use in the Summer ....All of them are great tires..It's just that Over all the SOREX's work well 90% of the time for me so ..
I guess it's a track by driver thing

Congrats on getting a Cuda, hope it goes as well for you as mine has for me

I just totaled up the cost of all the RC things I could do with it came to around $600
don't think I'll be getting it all any time soon
it included a lathe and a couple sets of good 3300GP's which I could do without, although I definetly need one set of good cells atleast. I didn't list all the alloy parts for the cuda I would like either, just a few bits like shaft holders and c-hubs, both will have to wait I won't upset myself further by totaling up what I've already spent on RC stuff in the last couple years, I may have to visit a psychiatrist

Think I'll stick with take off's for now then, they gave me plenty grip last year, infact CS22's even worked great in the rain at one round of the Scottish Champs it was very wet with standing water on the track and using my 15x4 chrome touring and CS22's on my Pro 3 I set the FTD in the first round of qualifying after all the fastest guys had had their first run I was still on pole in the A final and the meeting almost got called off at that point. Lots of people were using 12turn motors but there was so much water on the track it was dragging the cars back, bow waves going over shells was funny to watch, practicly everyone using 12turns dumped, the others just crashed out or got wet electrics. I was glad I had my MRT speedo and waterproofed receiver then they raced on though and my time was beaten, I was on my way to improve it myself by probably a lap when I spun out and lost a minute because there was no marshal where I spun, some people left early or just stood in their pits because they didn't want to get wet and no one else was paying attention. I ended up still on my first timed run and 3rd in the B final, not bad for 40+ drivers from all over Scotland, we normaly get more like 60+ drivers but it was a miserable day for weather. So thats my speed secret for you guys, use CS22's in the wet
