I was just going to ask if Speedtech are getting that bumper brace in, or one like it, looks like a great idea since the body posts aren't the dtiffest around and the bumper moves up and down a fair bit.

Can imagine why you didn't like the TC3, there's only one at our club, it's reasonably fast but nothing great, luckily the driver doesn't crash that much and has a few choice hop ups so he doesn't break it often. At another club I used to race at there was a newer driver with one and within weeks of starting he'd got aluminium all over the rear end because he broke so many stock plastic parts never went well either

My Cuda had a few nasty crashes tonight and kept going, it's a tank

I told you

This Car you wont have to worry about things breaking after you get the 3 "Magic" parts..

1) Alloy Front C-Hub
2) PAL/EXCEL drive system
3) Alloy Center Shaft holders F&R

anything else is optional I.E. bumper support from Square

Arrow Battery Strap...

From what I have read it seems that the R2 does not come with a battery strap. Is this true? If so does anyone know for sure if Losi XXX-S Posts will work with the Alex aluminum strap or any other posts/strap that may work for me? What about Associated posts/strap. Thanks for the help!

I think that the 1st batch of R2s' that came to the states didn't have them...but you can use the battery mount posts from a MR-4 Yoke' & a few other's

Talk with Herminator to get the Info on this and Macky too

BTW the Alloy battery strap is 'Very Nice"

I'm still using tape for my cells, waiting on Steve getting the alloy battery strap, then for posts I'll be getting some nice blue alloy ones from the new RC Lab Evo 7, I'll probably have to enlarge the the holes at the ends of the alloy strap for the tops of the posts to fit through and then it should look The yokomo strap looks like it will work well too, just not as nice looking

Hi Guys,

I think what I discovered was that the blue kits did not have them. The guys that purchased the purple kits had the battery tray in them. I've yet to receive confirmation on our parts shipment yet, so I'm not sure what is in side and when it will arrive, but it should be sometime this week or next week. I'll keep you all posted.

For the budget minded racer:

I would actually consider the PAL drive system to be optional unless you intend to use 64p gears.

If you really want an alloy center shaft, Alex Racing makes an alloy shaft in a few different colors. Also works out cheaper than getting the drive system.

I would place the alloy center shaft holders as a 1st priority. The stock plastic holders are ok for stock racing but they start to warp with modified motors.

My blue R2 came wth a battery tray and strap. I didn't install it. I will use tape for now.

A mystery package just remember that alloy parts don't tick hope you get a good wide range of parts in stock. Even if it will make the decision of what to get more difficult

Hows you stock of cells? will be a week or so until my order, got any cells you've been impressed with? hopefully not the most expensive ones any nice 12T hand wound mods, may end up needing one for club racing. Not too fond of UK prices though

Don't suppose there's the remotest chance of an inner body being made for the Cuda? long shot I know but surely it wouldn't have to be too complicated

Being partly Scottish and living in Scotland most my life I guess it's reasonable for me to be tight when it comes to spending money so thanks for an honest opinion on the drive assembly

You can use the post from the 7even but you have to drill out the holes in the aluminum battery strap a little.

Does the battery tray that came with the purple kits work with the R2? I've got one from the first batch that didn't come with it so I never had the chance to try it. Is it true that they can't be used anyways since they will hit the shaft? Has this been fixed?
